On September 12th, some of the members of Cooperativa La Madre Terra, guests of Manfredi Barbera and his company, participated in the convention L'Isola del TESOLIO - Cultivating the future: training and aggregation, a winning recipe for the Sicilian olive oil supply chain, held at the Mondello Splendid Hotel La Torre in Palermo, Sicily.

LThe event brought together institutions, producers and sector operators to discuss the prospects of the regional olive oil supply chain. During the morning, representatives of local and regional institutions spoke, along with leading figures from the Sicilian agricultural and business world.

Particularly interesting was the afternoon round table, dedicated to technologies for a safe and sustainable product and on the different uses of so-called "waste products" derived from olive oil production.

The discussion between the presidents of the main DOP Consortiums of Sicily - Val di Mazara, Monte Etna and Monti Iblei - together with Consorzio Olio IGP Sicilia, offered concrete insights on the common challenges the sector is facing.

For our cooperative, moments like these represent an opportunity for updating and comparison with other operators in the territory. The presence of our members testifies to the attention that La Madre Terra dedicates to the evolution of the olive oil sector, always with a view to improving the quality of our products and strengthening the bond with the Sicilian territory.

The convention confirmed the importance of aggregation and continuous training as fundamental tools to face the future challenges of the regional olive oil sector.
